Is Facebook Connect the Answer to Online Identity?
Sunday, March 15, 2009 As a supplement to my previous post on Identity 2.0, Facebook Connect seems to be getting some increased buzz in the market. Obviously the problem is a single commercial entity controlling online identity, however the upside is that Facebook has enough users (more than 175 million) to get wide enough adoption to actually make this work. Unfortunately OpenID has just not made enough headway. Dick Hardt has a nice comparison of competing identity technologies and his assessment of FB connect on his blog.
